Denver, CO — The sound of doors opening across the Front Range signals the start of one of Colorado’s most anticipated summer traditions: the 2016 Denver Parade of Homes, beginning Thursday, August 11.
More than 100,000 visitors are expected to tour over 60 new homes located across 44 neighborhoods in 17 Colorado cities — from Loveland to Castle Rock and Arvada to Aurora. The event offers an up-close look at the latest trends in home design, architecture, and energy-efficient construction.
Homes are open for tours Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Labor Day weekend. Entry to the Parade is free and open to the public.
“We welcome all to enjoy one of Denver’s most anticipated summer celebrations,” said Karna Pryor, 2016 Chairwoman of the Parade of Homes and Marketing Manager for Tri Pointe Homes.
Showcasing Innovation and Design
This year’s Parade features an impressive variety of homes — from affordable new builds to high-end custom designs — created by 19 builders representing both national companies and Colorado-based firms.
“The Parade is an excellent way to explore new neighborhoods and see the best in architectural trends, construction practices, and energy savings,” Pryor added.
Spotlight on the Luxury Dream Homes
Among the Parade’s most popular attractions are the Luxury Dream Homes, priced between $767,000 and $1.48 million. Each of these fully furnished, decorated, and landscaped homes features:
- Open-concept layouts
- Gourmet kitchens
- Spa-inspired master suites
- Private guest accommodations
- Grand staircases and walk-in closets
This year’s Dream Homes are presented by:
- Tri Pointe Homes in Aurora
- Mountain Property Builders in Castle Rock
- elacora in Thornton
- Jackson Design Build in Denver
The Jackson Design Build Home: Modern Luxury in Denver
One of the standout showpieces of the 2016 Parade is the Jackson Design Build Home at 1606 South Cook Street, Denver, a 4,592-square-foot masterpiece priced just under $1.48 million.
According to S. Robert August, Principal of North Star Synergies and marketing consultant for the home, crowds of over 5,000 visitors are expected at the Cory-Merrill neighborhood showcase property.
“This is a stunning, contemporary home,” said August. “It’s been designed precisely for today’s buyers — blending high-end finishes, smart energy systems, and a flexible, universal layout.”
The three-story home features aging-in-place design elements, including:
- A pre-designed elevator shaft for future installation
- Wide, accessible hallways and doorways
- Energy-efficient materials and construction
- A dedicated wine cellar, spa-quality bathrooms, and expansive entertaining areas
“The only major feature not yet installed is the elevator, which can be easily added later,” August noted. “We designed it with long-term livability in mind.”
The property has already attracted a buyer, reflecting strong interest in Denver’s growing high-end urban home market.
Spotlight Communities
In addition to the Dream Homes, the Parade includes Spotlight Communities, which feature several builder models located within walking distance of each other for easy touring.
2016 Spotlight Communities include:
- Erie Highlands in Erie – Homes by Oakwood Homes
- The Lakes at Centerra in Loveland – Homes by Tri Pointe Homes and Wonderland Homes
Welcoming New Builders
This year marks the first Parade appearance for several builders, including elacora, Epic Homes, CalAtlantic Homes, and Jackson Design Build.
New communities featured include Inspiration and Whispering Pines, both located in Aurora.
