Our process is designed to keep your project clear, organized, and collaborative from start to finish. We work in two phases: Design first, then Build so all decisions are well-defined before construction begins.
Jackson Design Build specializes in large-scale, high-value construction and remodeling projects. Our services include:
Yes, this is a core area of expertise.
Our difference lies in depth of experience, process, and care. With over 50 years of combined construction management experience, our leadership team has delivered thousands of residential and commercial projects across Colorado. We operate as a true cost-plus builder, providing full transparency into where every dollar goes and aligning our incentives with yours. Our clients are active participants in the process, with real-time access to schedules, costs, and progress through Buildertrend. Above all, we build long-term trust by doing exactly what we say we will do.
Cost-plus construction provides full transparency.
This model builds trust and accountability.
Your project is led by our experienced in-house leadership team, supported by a carefully vetted group of trade partners. Dave Jackson, who has been building custom homes since 1980, and Billy Jackson, who brings extensive large-scale construction experience, remain actively involved throughout each project. You will have a dedicated point of contact and a team that knows your project in detail, not a rotating cast of unfamiliar faces.
Clear communication is essential to a successful build. Clients are given full access to Buildertrend, our project management platform, where you can track schedules, costs, selections, and progress photos. We hold regular meetings, provide consistent updates, and encourage site visits. Our process is designed to keep you informed, involved, and confident at every stage.
The first meeting is about listening. We take the time to understand how you live, what you value, and what you want your home to become. We’ll ask detailed questions, take notes, and often gather measurements or photos. We’ll also explain our process, discuss budget expectations, and determine whether we’re the right fit for one another. This sets the foundation for a productive and successful partnership.
Yes. Most of our projects begin with a design agreement, followed by a construction agreement once plans and documentation are complete. This two-phase structure allows for thoughtful planning and accurate pricing before construction begins. In select cases where clients already have completed plans, we may step in as the builder, provided the project aligns with our standards and scope.
We operate as a cost-plus builder. This means you see the true cost of construction, along with a clearly defined builder’s fee. Our fee is fixed and drawn over the project timeline, which incentivizes efficiency and cost savings. Transparency is a cornerstone of our business, and clients always know where their investment is going.
Timelines vary based on complexity, permitting, and site conditions. Custom homes and full-home renovations are long-term projects that require careful planning during the Design Phase lasting from 4 to 9 months, and coordinated execution during the Construction Phase lasting from 6 to 18 months. During the design phase, we provide a realistic projected timeline and update it as the project evolves. Our priority is doing the work right, not rushing the process.
No. For large-scale remodels, we require that homeowners move out during construction. This allows us to work efficiently, safely, and without compromising quality. These projects are transformative in nature and are treated with the same rigor as new construction.
As involved as you’d like to be. We encourage clients to participate, ask questions, and visit the site. Your input is especially important during design and finish selections. At the same time, we handle the complexity so you can focus on the decisions that truly matter.
Yes. We manage the entire permitting and inspection process, including coordination with local building departments and zoning authorities in Parker and surrounding municipalities. Our experience with urban infill, redevelopment, and complex sites allows us to navigate these requirements efficiently and responsibly.
Absolutely. We tailor each project to your specific energy and water efficiency goals, whether that means high-performance building envelopes, efficient mechanical systems, or sustainable materials. Our goal is to maximize long-term value, comfort, and performance, not just initial aesthetics.
Yes. As Certified Aging in Place Specialists, we design homes that are functional, safe, and comfortable for people of all ages and abilities, without sacrificing beauty or design integrity.
Our work is centered on owner-driven homes. We do not purchase land or develop speculative homes for our own resale. In select cases, we may serve as the builder on investor- or developer-led projects, with homes ultimately sold to individual homeowners.
We complete your home fully before move-in and remain available as you settle in. We conduct one-month, six-month, and one-year follow-up visits and initiate your 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, ensuring long-term support and peace of mind.
